The journey begins in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Adrienne Blasky was surrounded by the finer things in the Bratwurst Capital of the World - The Chordettes, Lake Michigan surfing, Kohler toilets and coffee. When she wasn’t at a 5 AM figure skating practice or hitting the books, she was hanging out with friends at Wonderful World Coffeehouse (closed) or the Weather Center Café.
Next stop, Minneapolis. In 2006, Adrienne crossed state lines for the love of education. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She may have moved to the Mini Apple for school, but the arts culture has kept her there during the harsh winters. Minneapolis offered a wealth of opportunities in the music business. She organized concerts and special events for the university, interned for a college radio promoter and booked tours for a Twin Cities-based agency. There was a slight detour to Brighton, England, where she mastered the craft of the perfect cuppa while interning with a concert promoter.
During her final year of school, Adrienne began to work for a Dunn Bros store. She stayed on after graduation, going on to manage the shop and roast on the store’s San Franciscan. After a couple of years, the faint riffs of Purple Rain beckoned her back to the music business. Adrienne followed the sound to become the Booking Department Assistant at First Avenue. But the thrills of a rock ‘n roll lifestyle just couldn’t keep her away from the coffee industry. She found herself talking coffee with visiting artists – shops to visit; roadside brew methods; coffee stain removal methods. She leapt at the opportunity to work with the Café Imports team. And so, the road has led to here.
Adrienne lives with her husband, Charlie, and their calico cat, Nona. When in Minnesota, you will find her cheering on [soccer teams] Arsenal and Minnesota United or playing a game of Kubb. She enjoys Frasier, craft beer, biking and running. In the future, this Cheesehead from Sheboygan plans on embracing her polka heritage and finally learning to play the accordion.
