Emily is a Virgo, a Scandehoovian, and an avid reader. She rides her scooter to work most days, even though hailstorms. She spends much of her free time fixing up her junky little house, working at her family-owned campground, and spending time with her husband, Michael, their cat, and dog.
Emily began working for Café Imports in March of 2005. Prior to working here, she worked as a graphic designer, and a bartender through college. She attended the U of Minnesota and studied Environment and Sustainable Development, focusing on Latin America. Emily had a budding personal interest in coffee before she began working here and spent a month living and working on a coffee plantation in Costa Rica. Her coffee interest and knowledge have grown exponentially in the time she has been here and her enthusiasm has become a great asset to the company. Emily does a great deal of traveling for the company and leads trips to origin, represents at tradeshows, acts as a jurist in Cup of Excellence competitions, and is a member of the Roaster’s Guild.
