Lauren celebrated 15 years in the coffee industry in 2018. She started out slinging lattes on Lygon Street while at University. The degree didn’t stick, but her newfound interest in coffee became more than a part-time job for pocket money!
She spent years living in the U.K. and New Zealand, adventuring and learning a lot about specialty coffee from a lot of wonderful people. Returning home to Melbourne in 2012, there were more wonderful people and opportunities to grow within this amazing industry. She became a Q grader, a National Brewers Cup Head Judge and, in 2018 this year, the Australian Specialty Coffee Associations Southern Region Competition Manager. Also in 2018, she jumped at the chance to join the incredible team at Cafe Imports and start another new adventure!
When she's not drinking, judging or talking about coffee, you’ll generally find Lauren in front of a cheese board with a glass of Pinot Noir. She also loves cats. And dogs, and chickens, and goats. Given the chance, She’d have a small farm in my back yard. She loves dancing, yoga, tending to her indoor plants and New Orleans brass bands.
Travelling is also super important to her and Japan is her most recent obsession.
