VEGA DEL ROSARIO (Siltepec) was formed by the following producers:
Julieta Guadalupe González
Martha Luz Roblero Ramírez
Eliseo Reyes
Victorico Guadalupe
These producers originally come from the cooperative Vega del Rosario, Municipio de Siltepec, holders of a share in common land originally and they integrated with la Organización GRAPOS in 2009. They are Certified Organic (EU-NOP) and Fair Trade.
In this area the climate is cold and has the perfect altitude to allow for the coffee beans to maintain the necessary characteristics to be some of the finest coffees in the world. In these microregions of Chipapas, all of the smallproducers mill their own coffee, each one counting on their own depulping machine. The coffee is fermented in concrete tanks and dried naturally on drying patios made of cement.
El Ejido (The cooperative) Vega del Rosario and it’s plots of land belong to Municipio de Siltepec and this municipality is located to the southwest of the state of Chiapas, and forms part of the Sierra Madre in Chiapas. The region is 100% coffee-growing.
