Six hundred smallholder producers from 12 different communities contribute to Cafetaleros de Tecpatlan, SPR de RL. The family-owned farms average around 7 hectares in size, and the producers grow their coffee in the northern mountains of Puebla, admid the strong heritage of Nahuatl, Totonaco, and Mestizo people who reside there.
Tecpatlan provides a system for marketing the communities' coffees, and also harbors nurseries to provide coffee plants and shade trees to the farmers. Tecpatlan is Fair Trade (FLO) and organic OCIA (NOP) certified.
