This lot comes from three producers in the community of Ixhuatlan: Silvano Delin Reynoso, Ranulfo Felipe Delin Alcantara, and Flavia Clicelia Reynoso Vichique. The first 150 coffee trees in the family's farm were planted in 1960 by Silvano and Ranulfo's grandparents, who started growing coffee after working as sugarcane laborers, and the land and crops were passed down through the family line. They also grow plantains and nopal, a type of cactus, to supplement their coffee income. Now there are 10 hectares planted with coffee, and their combined production is about 35 quinatales per hectare.

Delin believes in the strong connection between respect for mother nature and a high-quality-coffee producer: The cherry on the farms is only picked at its ripest, and the selection is very disciplined. They also pay their pickers a higher wage than what is typical in the area. The producers hope to add value by combining lots together with other local quality producers, hence this lot, which Café Imports is proud to offer to our customers!
