Cafe Imports seeks a full-time content specialist!
Job components require the candidate to be based in Minneapolis, Minnesota (U.S.A.) as part of the Cafe Imports in-house Marketing team, along with an ability to travel—primarily internationally—for roughly 25% of the year. Job qualifications include skills and background (either academic, professional, or experiential) in photo-journalism, and at least 5 years of graphic-design experience.
As part of the Cafe Imports Marketing department, the content specialist assists in the development of original coffee content according to a dynamic task list and editorial calendar under the supervision of the creative director, and as determined by importing logistics, marketing needs, and interdepartmental projects (both short- and long-term).
The Cafe Imports Marketing department prides itself in being adaptable and spontaneous while working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, and we hold ourselves to very high quality standards. (You might say we hold ourselves to specialty-quality standards.) Collaboration and travel coordination with the Cafe Imports green-coffee buying team is central to the content-specialist position, and remaining reliable and consistent with department needs while traveling is essential.
Candidates for the content specialist position will be selected for their mixed-media skills, as well as for the ability to work as a team player; willingness to collaborate on editorial projects; capability of adopting the company voice/embodying the company philosophy; comfortability traveling to remote areas either with others or possibly alone; interest and concern for ethical marketing and reportage; and willingness to learn on the job. Oh, and it really helps if you like coffee. Like, really like coffee.
Coffee-industry experience, some capacity with Spanish and/or Portuguese, Web administration, social-media promotion, and event coordination experience is a plus, but not necessarily required.
