Sitio Pedra Batista is a 10.8-hectare lot owned by Carlos Renato Braga da Silva, with 5 hectares planted in coffee of several Yellow varieties: Bourbon, Catucai, and Catuai.
Carlos Renato is very proud of his farm's history: It was purchased by his great-great-grandfather in 1940, then passed down through the generations to Carlos Renato, though coffee wasn't always a primary focus: The land grew tobacco, beans, and corn mostly. The farm has no workers besides the family, and Carols Renato himself does most of the daily duties around the farm: He has learned about quality from his grandfather, who would tell him stories about "specialty coffee," and he has done a lot to improve his picking, processing, and sorting to achieve better results.
