OMG, It’s a Brand-New Cafe Imports Website!

Posted on June 15th, 2018

Coffee’s always changing, and we’re in constant pursuit of better quality, better knowledge, and better accessibility for our partners along the supply chain. It’s our job to change, too, and to remain elastic in our work and in our approach not only on the ground and in the field, but also in every avenue at home, where our roaster partners turn to us for information, partnership, and, of course, great coffees!

With that in mind, we’re introducing a new look to cafeimports.com, with a few new features and touches we’re proud of, and which we hope make the site a better and more navigable resource for anyone who points their browser in our direction, from producers to exporters to roasters, baristas, and even coffee consumers who love to get geeky with us.

Fresh Look

Since a website can’t get a haircut and buy a new outfit, we had to do a little work behind the scenes to freshen up the appearance of our homepage and various subpages, giving them all a cleaner, more graphic (and less wordy) look that we hope will draw more eyes to some of the dynamic stories we tell, coffee profiles we share, and to make coffee look as exciting as we know it is.

Hopefully, this new graphic direction will also make it easier to find some of the hidden gems that have been there all along, such as our extensive library of free educational materials (cafeimports.com/education) such as breakdowns on different origins, descriptions of processing methods, the coffee-variety family tree and harvest schedule, as well as videos about roasting, cupping, and more.

There’s also a dynamic purchase planning page, which can help roasters of all sizes navigate the winding roads and often complex journey of buying green coffee. Whether you’re just starting out on a small machine or roasting thousands of pounds per week, you’ll find a heap of information about how you can use Cafe Imports as a resource and as an advocate for you and your business.

One-Stop Beanology Access

It’s easier than ever to search for coffee profiles, both of currently available, recently available, and archived lots. Rather than having to navigate to a separate Beanologies search page, now all coffees and archived coffee profiles can be found in the same search field!

Samples

We’ve also made it even easier to build a shopping bag with samples of coffees you’d like to try, simply by clicking the “+ Sample” button to the right-hand side of any coffee on our offerings sheet for which samples are available. Your shopping bag is accessible at the upper right-hand corner of the webpage, where you’ll see the number of samples you’ve chosen. Clicking on that shopping bag icon will bring you to a page where you can enter your shipping details, and with just a few taps on a keyboard or touch-screen, your coffees will be on their way to you.

International Landing Pages

Cafe Imports is a global company, and we recognize that our international partners need quick and convenient access to the information that is the most relevant, accurate, and tailored to their businesses. For that reason, we’ve build separate sites for our European and Australian markets, containing specialized offer sheets and specific ordering information, direct contacts for the Cafe Imports teams in the Berlin and Melbourne offices, and the same easy access to the wealth of other resources we offer at cafeimports.com, such as educational materials and coffee traceability profiles.

Better Mobile View

Today’s phones are smart, and today’s roasters are brilliant—they know how to manage time effectively by not getting bogged down on computers and in their inboxes. We sought to make cafeimports.com a more mobile-friendly site with this upgrade, allowing our busy partners to find out up-to-the-minute information without having to boot up or even sit down. Access our daily offerings list, current and archived Beanologies, and even request samples right in the palm of your hand.
