We’re Moving Warehouses!

Posted on November 18th, 2020

We’d like to ask for a moment of your time to update you on our plans for the near future. After weighing all of the difficult choices that Brexit has put in front of our company, we have made the decision that beginning 4th January 2021, all of our unsold coffee inventory will be warehoused in Antwerp, Belgium. Aside from this transition, all of our services will remain the same, and our team will remain headquartered in Berlin.

Below, we’ve addressed why we are doing this, what to expect for the remainder of 2020, and what to expect from 2021 onwards.

Why are we doing this?

This adjustment is based on the outcome of Brexit negotiations, which has changed Europe’s international working environment and compelled us to find a new warehouse location that keeps our coffees easily accessible to continental Europe, convenient for our UK customers, and accessible for all inbound shipments from origin.

Our services between now and 4th January 2021

For now until the end of the work day on 11th December 2020, all services remain the same, with coffees shipping from our Vollers UK warehouse.

  • To receive coffees before Christmas, please order by 2pm CET on 11th December 2020.
  • We are offering discounts of 0.20 cts/kg or £0.18/kg on every spot order placed before 11th December
  • Orders placed after the 11th December cutoff will be released on 4th January 2021

Our services from 4th January 2021 onwards

All coffees will be held in our new warehouse, which is run by Molenbergnatie NV, a company based in Antwerp with extensive experience warehousing specialty coffee (www.molenbergnatie.com).

  • Please get in touch with us to learn more about freight and customs
  • You will be able to consolidate your orders with other importers using the Molenbergnatie warehouse

Finally, our entire team at Cafe Imports Europe is available Monday–Friday, 9am to 5:30pm CET via e-mail or phone should you have any questions or concerns.

While it’s been a tumultuous year, we are excited by the opportunity to continue working with you and progressing our shared values of increasing the quality of life for those involved from coffee tree to cup, decreasing our negative impact on the earth through responsible and proactive business practices, and sharing our passion for great coffee through education and example.

Our number-one goal has always been and will continue to be providing the best possible customer experience for you. We are confident this move will help us do that even better.

Best wishes,

Cafe Imports Europe
