Located near the town of Naranjo in Costa Rica's West Valley, coffee production at Genesis is now in its 3rd generation of development in the hands of Oscar Mendez. Oscar's grandfather first planted coffee almost 30 years ago, beginning the legacy and family tradition of coffee production. As soon as Oscar took over management of his family's farmhe immediately built his own wet mill, marking a new era for the legacy of Genesis. Oscar maintains a philosophy in coffee production that is harmonious with the earth and only 50% of his land is planted in coffee. Within the farmand coffee fieldsone can experience an array of flora, specifically shade trees that benefit the coffee plants.
Coffee at Genesis is picked at full maturity and processed on the same day. For the drying process, Oscar has a large concrete patio for washed coffee production, and many African beds for his honey and natural production.
