Kimiyo is the quintessential California girl. Born in Redondo Beach and raised in Long Beach, she spent her whole life on or near the ocean. She would often find herself snowboarding in the morning and paddle boarding in the afternoons. Always thirsty for an adventure, she spent all her free time in Yosemite and Joshua Tree National Parks making friends with the trees and Park Rangers. Her curiosity for the world has taken her scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, snowboarding in the Swiss Alps, exploring around Angkor Wat, trekking through the fjords of New Zealand, and tons of places in between. And as transplant to the land of 10,000 lakes, she is excited to get well acquainted with all the fresh new terrain the North has to offer.
Her interest in coffee originally sprouted from a sincere love for customer service. She loved being the first person to say hello to you in the morning. This blossomed into a deep fascination with coffee and how it connects so many people together through hard work, passion, and craft. She quickly fell down the rabbit hole and found herself training baristas, and eventually managing a coffee shop in Southern California.
Kimiyo received her B.A. in Political Theory at Long Beach State and enjoys staying up to date on local, national, and world political arenas. In her free time, Kimiyo enjoys staying busy by sharing good conversation over a craft beer, cruising around discovering things about her new home, and Olympic Weightlifting. Let her know if you ever need a partner to workout with.
