The Kirimiri Factory is located in the Kanja location in Kenya’s Embu district. Built in the early 1980’s, the Kirimiri Factory has been producing SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru 11 offerings from contributing members’ farms for almost 40 years. Currently there are 946 total members of which 722 were active contributors to this offering. The average farmer has about two hectares of land and 250 trees.
Coffee is here picked ripe and brought to the factory for depulping, washing, and soaking; farmers receive training every year from the factory manager. The factory's water comes from the Kirimiri stream, and there are four soaking pits for recycling and purifying the water.
