Cafe Imports is hiring a traffic associate for the Cafe Imports Costa Rica office in San José, Costa Rica.
The person in this position will work under the supervision of the green-coffee buyer and the green-coffee buyer’s associate and will handle many of the day-to-day logistical needs of the Cafe Imports Costa Rica office. As part of a small team in a growing export-import office, the ideal candidate will be a friendly person who is able to multitask, remain organized, wear several hats when necessary, and overall be a team player with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Interest and experience in coffee are a plus but are not required.
Coordinate Icafe contracts with coffee producers
Coordinate export of coffees in conjunction with Cafe Imports logistics team
Communicate inland logistics with various shipping lines
Ship green-coffee samples to Cafe Imports offices and to customers internationally
Coordinate the milling and transportation of coffee to the warehouse prior to export, in collaboration and cooperation with the producers
Keep inventory on packaging materials
Assist the U.S.–based inbound logistics team
Document FDA requirements, invoices, phytosanitary permission, and organic certification, among other documents and record-keeping
Verbal and written fluency in both Spanish and English
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities
Takes pride in self-motivation, and is proactive and organized
Experience in logistics and/or communication with international shipping lines and transportation companies a strong plus
U.S. visa is a plus
Must currently live in Costa Rica and have up-to-date work permission if not a Costa Rican citizen
Must be willing and able to travel to Cafe Imports’ offices in the U.S.A., Australia, and Europe
Available to start working immediately
