Most Newly Imported Coffee is Now Exempt from U.S. Tariffs

Posted on November 17th, 2025

Update: 11/17/25

We have some long-awaited good news to share: The administration announced on November 14 that, due to the lack of meaningful domestic coffee production (along with certain other agricultural goods), these products will no longer be subject to import tariffs.

While the industry welcomes this relief, we continue to advocate for a resolution on coffee from Brazil, the world’s largest producer, which remains excluded from the exemption.

Changes at Cafe Imports

  • As of today, November 17, all Cafe Imports unsold Spot coffees (excluding Brazil) are tariff-free.
  • Updated pricing is now live on our sales sheets and customer portal.

Changes for the US

  • Since April 2025, imported coffee entering the U.S. has carried a minimum 10% tariff, with some origins facing up to 50%.
  • Any coffee entering the country after 12:00 a.m. on November 13—except Brazil-is now exempt from U.S. import tariffs.
  • Brazilian Tariffs are reduced from 50% to 40% currently.

As always, we’ll keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
