We are headed to New York City at the end of July to celebrate something the Café Imports team holds very near and dear—the publication of Meister’s first book: New York City Coffee: A Caffeinated History!
It’s being released by The History Press/Arcadia Publishing on 7/31, and you can either pre-order the book at Arcadia Publishing, or you can purchase it from the author herself at one of the two must-attend events below.
See you all soon in the city that never sleeps—due in large part to its deeply caffeinated history!
Take your to-go mug along on a walking tour of New York’s coffee history, led by Café Imports’ content specialist Meister, to celebrate the publication of her first book: New York City Coffee: A Caffeinated History, coming out with The History Press on 7/31.
Walk the storied streets of Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, Meatpacking District, and Chelsea for a glimpse in to the Empire City’s caffeinated past, present, and future, with stops for a few good coffees—and a few good yarns—along the way. Meister will tell tales from her new book and offer insight into some of the characters whose legacy lives on, and you’ll meet a few of the living legends who are keeping the tradition alive and even pushing it into the next wave.
Sites include Porto Rico Importing Co., Caffè Reggio, the childhood home of Alice Foote MacDougall, Joe Coffee Company, Kobrick Coffee, Ninth Street Espresso, and Café Grumpy—with plenty of chatting on the stroll in between.
**The tour is free to join. Please bring cash for any coffees you’d like to drink or buy along the way.
