Asociación de mujeres caficultoras con visión de futuro
ASOVIF stands for Asociación de mujeres caficultoras con visión de futuro, or “association of women coffee producers with vision for the future.” The association was legally formed in 2015 and its members are women from the village of Peña Blanca: The women used to get together regularly for things like dance lessons and sports, and they decided to come to gether more formally to begin to cultivate coffee for the benefit of their families and community. There are 26 total members, up from 12 when the association began.
