The courts have made a flurry of rulings regarding refunds in the last two weeks. It is looking increasingly likely that the US government will develop a new process that will result in all IEEPA tariffs being automatically (or nearly automatically) returned to Importers of Record. The timeline for this action is currently uncertain. We are however monitoring this closely. Within the day, the Trump Administration established new 10% (raised to 15% over the weekend) tariffs on all countries under a different (and more restrictive) law. So, what does this mean for coffee?<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Tariffs:<\/strong> The new tariffs imposed over the weekend do not apply to green coffee. An exemption was written into the new Tariff executive order, so things will continue as they were.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Refunds on Tariffs Paid:<\/strong> The Supreme Court has left the issue of refunding the duties collected up to the U.S. Court of International Trade and the lower courts. The change is retroactively effective for goods entered or withdrawn from the warehouse for consumption on or after November 13, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><span data-teams=\"true\">Our unsold spot Brazilian inventory is now tariff-free. <\/span>Updated and tariff-free pricing is already available on our Offering List and through the Cafe Imports Customer Portal.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_heading title=&#8221;Update: 11\/17\/25&#8243; header_2_font=&#8221;Raleway|600|||||||&#8221; header_2_font_size=&#8221;30px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>We have some long-awaited good news to share: The administration announced on <strong>November 14<\/strong> that, due to the lack of meaningful domestic coffee production (along with certain other agricultural goods), <strong>these products will no longer be subject to import tariffs. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the industry welcomes this relief, we continue to advocate for a resolution on coffee from Brazil, the world&#8217;s largest producer, which remains excluded from the exemption.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_2_font=&#8221;Raleway|600|||||||&#8221; header_2_font_size=&#8221;30px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Changes at Cafe Imports<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>As of today, November 17, all Cafe Imports unsold Spot coffees (excluding Brazil) are tariff-free.<\/li>\n<li>Updated pricing is now live on our sales sheets and customer portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Changes for the US<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Since April 2025, imported coffee entering the U.S. has carried a minimum 10% tariff, with some origins facing up to 50%.<\/li>\n<li>Any coffee entering the country after 12:00 a.m. on November 13\u2014except Brazil-is now exempt from U.S. import tariffs.<\/li>\n<li>Brazilian Tariffs are reduced from 50% to 40% currently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243;
