Lenis Valderrama Gonzalez owns the 9.3-hectare farm Buena Vista, where he has 8.3 hectares planted in coffee, including Gesha variety, which he has raised from seeds brought from Panama. He's been farming coffee for almost his entire life, since helping on his father's farm. "Eventually I fell in love with the profession," he says. "I am still working with my father—we put every effort into this farm that has given us everthing."

Lenis has about 43,000 trees at Buena Vista, and picks the cherries at peak ripeness. After depulping them that same evening, the coffees are fermented dry for 26 hours before being washed three times and dried in parabolic dryers for 15–18 days.
