Looking Forward to the New Year in Coffee 2023

As we look forward to the new year in coffee 2023, we must first look back and address the challenging and rewarding year of 2022.

A big thank you goes first to all those we work with. From coffee producers and our exporter partners, through freight and logistics, and ending with the roasters and their customers, amidst changing weather patterns, logistical challenges, a high c market, and post-pandemic economic uncertainty, the specialty coffee community in all parts of the world have held fast to the ideals that set us apart.

The community continued to seek quality and integrity in all stages along the coffee chain and is better positioned to kick off 2023.

Looking to 2023, we are excited to embrace the new normal we find ourselves in. Cautious, undoubtedly volatile, and yet more predictable. This past year, the industry built momentum through reconnection. We plan to continue on this trajectory by traveling more, visiting our friends around the world, attending events, hosting events too, and sourcing sourcing sourcing. We will keep you in the loop with our travels and would love to see you at any opportunity. How else can we say it? We miss you!

What you can look forward to:

Perhaps it’s ironic to say that there are sleeper coffees, but in this season of flashy fruity cups, limited-release microlots, and big-name arrivals, it’s easy to overlook the quieter fresh-crop coffees that can be versatile and delicious while also being accessible—both in terms of their cup quality and characteristics, as well as their price.
