Michael was born and raised in New Zealand (the undisputed birthplace of the flat white) where he discovered his love of caffeine at an early age, eventually finding out that there was more to coffee than eating powdered instant directly from the jar.
This passion, and the realisation that he could make a career out of coffee without ever running out of new things to learn, led him to move to Melbourne and work for several coffee businesses including as a barista, delivery driver, roaster, equipment seller, and finally green bean spruiker. This is where Michael realised that the green coffee supply chain was the most rewarding and dynamic place to be.
Michael is extremely proud to play his small part in adding value to the endeavors of passionate coffee producers and is humbled to be able to work with so many wonderful and dedicated people.
When not at his computer, you will find Michael napping, watching cricket, listening to Jazz, or doing a crossword, and he is happy to engage with anyone who dares argue they are all pretty much the same thing.
