From a young age, Claudia has been driven by a deep curiosity about the world and the many cultures that inhabit it. Before entering the coffee industry, she traveled extensively whenever possible, exploring new perspectives and observing the diversity of human experience. While studying and working, she dedicated much of her free time to volunteering and soon became actively involved in several social and welfare projects across Italy.
She holds a Master's Degree in International Relations, having studied first in Italy, then in Ireland, before later specializing in anthropology in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As soon as Claudia entered the coffee world, she knew it would become her professional path. Fascinated by the immense knowledge behind every cup of coffee, and deeply respectful of the traditions and cultures built around this extraordinary product, she initially focused on quality control and cupping.
Her coffee journey took her from Italy to Australia, where she worked in specialty coffee and became a Q Grader. From Sydney, she moved to East Africa, experiencing the coffee industry from the perspective of origin. She lived in Tanzania for a year while also working extensively in Kenya and Rwanda. Later, she returned to Europe, where she was exposed to the Dutch coffee-trading landscape in Amsterdam.
Claudia eventually found her home at Cafe Imports, where she continues to pursue her passion for specialty coffee while reconnecting with the African regions she deeply loves. Since joining Cafe Imports in 2017 as a buyer, her focus has been on sourcing exceptional African coffees.
In her personal life, she may unexpectedly draw you into endless philosophical discussions or spend hours daydreaming and exploring medical anthropology in her free time.
When she is not traveling the world or cupping coffee, Claudia enjoys studying psychology, hiking in the Alps, and kayaking on the lakes near her home in Italy. She loves cats and feels happiest when surrounded by nature.
