Danielle is a multidisciplinary designer, which is an easy way of saying that her design interests span a bunch of different skill sets, and If you know her personally, this tracks.
After earning her undergraduate degree in English literature she taught English abroad in South East Asia and South America for a few years. Her career in coffee didn’t begin until she returned to the US and started working at a cafe in Washington, DC. There she began to realize that a product she had always loved might offer her something beyond just comfort and a caffeine buzz. While working on the service end of the coffee industry as a lead barista and barista trainer, Danielle was also developing a growing practice in illustration and design on her own time.
In pursuit of a Master’s degree in illustration, she moved to Baltimore where she also began working as a graphic designer and social media specialist for an espresso machine distributor. Between going to school full time and working part-time she quickly developed a multidisciplinary skillset which she now continues to grow through the varied projects she works on at Cafe Imports.
In her spare time, you can find Dani falling off the wall at the bouldering gym, experimenting with different art forms, volunteering in harm reduction, and planning her next trip.
