Maria Paula is originally from San José, Costa Rica, with deep roots in the coffee-growing region of Tarrazú. She currently works as the Logistics Coordinator and Office Administrator for Oxcart Coffee & Cafe Imports in Costa Rica.
She grew up in a coffee-producing family, an experience that sparked her interest in learning more about the coffee industry and everything it represents for the country. After finishing university, she realized there was still so much to learn about the world of coffee, which led her to begin training in coffee cupping and quality evaluation.
Over time, she developed a strong passion for coffee, its global impact, and the connection it creates between producers, exporters, roasters, importers, and consumers throughout the supply chain. Today, she works to help showcase the hard work and dedication of thousands of Costa Rican coffee producers around the world. That mission is what motivates her every day.
Outside of work, Maria Paula enjoys spending time in nature, discovering and tasting new coffees, and being around animals. She has a special love for dogs and cats and dreams of rescuing and caring for as many as she can.
